What is scaleup?

In distributed database processing, scaleup involves the amount of work that can be accomplished by increasing computing capacity. Scaleup measures the increased size of the job which can be done while holding time constant. Scaleup is measured as the ratio of the amount of work completed with the original configuration to the amount of work completed with the larger configuration.
