What is cache coherence?

A problem of parallel database processing using shared disk architectures. Cache coherence involves synchronization among local memories and common disk storage. After a processor addresses a disk page, the image of this page remains in the cache associated with the given processor. An inconsistency occurs if another processor has changed the page in its own buffer.
