PU - PUCAD students excel in various competitions

According to a notification, issued by the Punjab University (PU), the College of Art & Design (PUCAD) students, with their excellent performance, have bagged several positions in various art competitions. College students Awais Ali Sheikh bagged 2nd position won Rs 50,000/- as prize money and Jawad Khalid 3rd position and won Rs 25,000/- as prize money in Lahore Shopping Festival 2012 photography competition while Adeel Zahid and Shoaib Ahmad won Consolation prizes. The competition was organized by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to the press release, the students of Architecture Department participated in “Design Competition” for the Landscaping of the Sambrial Roundabout near Sialkot Dry Port which was organized by Sialkot Dry Port Trust. In this connection a prize distribution ceremony was held at Gosha-e-Behzad-o-mani, PUCAD, the students including Marya Yahya, Naima Rizwan, Rabeea Tahir, Shahana Zaidi and Rai Shehzad won 1st position and got Rs 5000/- as prize money each, while Ramsha Ayub, Rida Zehra, Abu Bakr and Karamat Subhani stood 2nd got Rs 3000/- as prize money each and Ume Fatima, Ayesha Mahboob, Zainab Khalil and Maliha Sabahat bagged 3rd position got Rs 2000/- as prize money each.
