Oracle DB Error ORA-01685 max # extents (string) reached in index string.string partition string

The following is the cause of this error:

An index tried to extend past MAXEXTENTS.

Action you can take to resolve this issue: If MAXEXTENTS is less than the system max, raise it. Otherwise, you must re-create with larger initial, next or PCTINCREASE parameters.
