Oracle DB Error ORA-01239 database must be in ARCHIVELOG mode to use external cache

The following is the cause of this error:

An online file uses an external cache, but the database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode. Since an external cache may require media recovery this cannot be allowed.

Action you can take to resolve this issue: Change database to be in ARCHIVELOG mode or do not use an external cache.
