Oracle DB Error ORA-01176 data dictionary has more than the string files allowed by the controlfie

The following is the cause of this error:

After a CREATE CONTROLFILE, the data dictionary was found to have more datafiles than that supported by the control file.

Action you can take to resolve this issue: Re-create the control file with a larger value for MAXDATAFILES.
