According to the official notification, issued by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) is organizing a two-day introductory workshop on Mathematical Finance. The aim of the workshop is to give students a brief overview of the mathematical techniques used in the global financial markets, for the pricing and risk management of derivatives. An applied flavour will be the underlying theme to enable workshop attendees to appreciate the practical importance and uses of mathematics in finance.
The two-day programme is open to ACF and Economics juniors and seniors. A combination of lectures and computer based lab sessions will introduce workshop delegates to some of the quantitative and computational features of derivative pricing. Upon completion, all participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
