LUMS - SarSubz Initiative Launched

According to the official notification, issued by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), as part of the SarSubz LUMS Initiative, a campus wide tree plantation programme has been undertaken to plant new Neem trees along the boundaries of the campus. The tree plantation was launched with the planting of the first trees by Dr. Adil Najam, Vice Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and Mr. Amir Khan, head of General Administration at LUMS. The initial set of trees planted across campus were donated by Dr. Adil Najam and Mr. Amer Khan as a contribution to the campus environment and a greener and more sustainable LUMS.

About SarSabz Program

“The SarSubz LUMS (‘SarSubz’ is Urdu for ‘Always Green’) Initiative is an expression of the University’s long-standing and continuing commitment to environmental consciousness and sustainable development in our own lives, at our own campus, and beyond… Our goal is continuing improvement and a sustainable and environmental-friendly institution that seeks to minimise its own environmental impact and to improve our collective understanding of the practice and principles of sustainable development. LUMS is dedicated to tackling this challenge both through academic research and teaching and by translating research into action on campus.”
