LUMS - LESCO - LUMS Partnership Programmes

According to a notification, issued by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) has established a partnership with the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) for a series of capacity building programmes for its middle and top management. This is the second partnership under REDC’s initiative of developing public sector expertise and insights. In 2011, REDC joined hands with the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) to deliver a series of programmes over the year.

Being an important milestone in the development of industry insights within LUMS, this initiative is being spearheaded by Dr. Anwar Khurshid, Dr. Arif Rana and Dr. Aamir Khan with active involvement of some other faculty members at LUMS and industry experts. The programme consists of a varied mix of case studies, role plays and interactive lectures relevant to the Energy Sector.

The LUMS – LESCO partnership kicked off with the launch of the first programme on April 23, 2012. Present at the launch event were senior members from LESCO management. In the opening address, the company CEO, Sharafat Ali Sial, expressed the importance of this initiative for LESCO management and shared his high expectations from LUMS and the participants.
