HEC MT-FPDP Program

According to the official website of the Higher Education Commission(HEC), there are three programs of which Master Trainers-Faculty Professional Development Program (MT-FPDP) is the major certified program and the other two are meant for the best cascading performers of MT-FPDP.

1. Master Trainers-Faculty Professional Development Program:

According to the official website of the Higher Education Commission(HEC), this is an 8 to 12 Week fully sponsored National in-service residential Master Trainer’s professional teaching certificate program, held at LID Islamabad, designed for Higher Education teaching faculty to develop their Androgogical/Research skills and requisite professional skills.

Fifteen such batches of MT-FPDP have been organized so far by Learning Innovation Division in which faculty members of different Public and HEC Funded Private Sector Universities got professional certification in their teaching as well as research & management skills.

The faculty members developed as Master Trainers disseminate similar training in their respective institutions. So far 441 HE faculty members have benefited from it and they are serving as Master Trainers in their respective institutions.

Duration: 8-12 Week

2. Indigenous Advanced Specified Courses for MT-FPDP Alumni:

Up to 2 Week Indigenous Advanced Specified Courses for MT-FPDP Alumni Program is an exclusive refresher program especially designed for the Master Trainers-Faculty Professional Development Program Alumni for in-depth enhancement of their basic skills learnt during MT-FPDP orientation program.

So far 70 Master Trainer Faculty Members selected from batch 1 to 10 of MT-FPDP attended the Advanced Specified Courses during the FY 2009-10 in three batches held at HEC Regional Centre Lahore & Karachi.

Duration: Up to 2 Week

3. Advanced Specified Courses for MT-FPDP Alumni at Asian Institute of Technology, Extension, Bangkok:

It is an exclusive follow-up 3 week international program meant for the best cascading performing Alumni of Master Trainers-Faculty Professional Development Program (MT-FPDP) who has gone through rigorous two month in-house academic training. To further expose them to the international practices of academic, research and so as to build their capacity to run the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Centers at the universities to impart trainings to faculty and management cadre.

This training program will be conducted in Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok. The trainees will get the opportunity to get in-depth skill enhancement orientation from world renowned experts which in return will add lot of value for each of the HEI the Master Trainers are representing. 23 Master Trainer Faculty Members being selected out of batch 1 to 10 of MT-FPDP attended the 1st Advanced Specified Course at AIT Extension in March 2011.

AIT Extension will offer a broad array of customized and regular capacity development programs relevant to the professional and academic needs of the Pakistani university teaching faculty. The program at AIT Extension will cover the following areas:

- Training of Trainers
- Advanced Competencies for Trainers
- Quality Assurance for Higher Education
- Education Leadership and Management
- Study Visits to Thailand on Agribusiness Development

- Study Visits to all the leading universities of Thailand
- Management and Implementation of Development Projects
- Project Management
