According to a notification, issued by the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), the Final year students of Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology visited Tarbela Dam Power house (with 5000MW approx. capacity) on 6th March 2012 under the supervision of faculty members, Dr. Adnan Noor, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Farooqi, Mr. Mazhar Javed, Mr. Kashif Riaz, Mr. Muhammad Mahmood Ali, Mr. Nayyer Abbas Zaidi and Mr. Mahmood Khan.
They were welcomed by a WAPDA official, deputed by higher authorities for briefing of power house to the students. The students were informed about the production of electricity at Tarbela and its transmission to the cities. The students were also briefed about the protection equipments installed at power house. At their return to GIK Institute, the students and faculty members thanked WAPDA officials for cooperation and briefing.
