According to the information made available to the National Assembly by Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization, (Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar), current population growth rate of Pakistan according to 1998 Census average annual is 2.69%. However, at present the projected growth rate by National Institute of Population Studies (NIPS) for 2013 is 1.97%.
