February, 2016: The HEC University Ranking List (or 5th ranking of Pakistan Universities), published by the Higher Education Commission, has been divided into 7 categories given below.

Ranking Lists 2014

Updated on July 06, 2015: The HEC university ranking list (or Ranking 2014 of Pakistani Higher Education Institutions), published by the Higher Education Commission, has been divided into 6 subject categories: General, Engineering, Business, Agriculture & Veterinary Science, Medical and Arts. An overall ranking list has also been published, in addition to the categorized rankings. A number of universities have been excluded from the list. Detailed information on criteria and key features of university rankings is available at HEC's official website. For past HEC Rankings, see Ranking List 2012 & 2006. Ranking Lists for Year 2012 and 2006

Update (2012): The Higher Education Commission has published an updated list of rankings, which includes 4 new categories: Overall Top Ten, Computer Sciences (previously Business/ I.T), General (Medium) and General (Small). Additionally, the commission has also published a list of Higher Education Institutes (HEIs)/ Universities that have been excluded from the ranking list.
